Southern Spars Rigging

Bladerider are the International dealers for high modulus International Moth carbon masts, booms and products on behalf of Southern Spars.

The two-piece masts are constructed from pre-preg and high modulus carbon fibre and come in a choice two different stiffness depending on your body weight. The standard mast will suit most existing sails and average weight sailors, however a much stiffer mast is available to sailors over 80kg.

Using a 40mm section and special building techniques, the mast has an absolute minimal weight at about approx 2kg fully rigged. The two piece join even has a locating screw so the top of the mast won't twist around on you when you are putting your cams on.

Each mast will also come fitted with a stainless steel hounds fitting, mast top cap, carbon prodder fitting, mase base with pin, 1/4" hole for the gooseneck bolt, extra long mast base pin and a 6mm eye becket fitted to the base of the mast for the cunningham attachment.

Southern Spars also supply carbon rigging for your mast and rear wing bar brace, at a tiny 2mm diameter they are 75% lighter than wire rigging. The stays come in a large reel protecting them from any damage in transport.
