From the 2007 World's:
"I must get up early to go training with Lex, then I will be sailing like a God".

Carlo started sailing with 12 on a rib with sail. Moved on to the Vaurien, after the rib was not ok in strong wind. He was Baden Württemberg Champion on 470 in 1976.

He was German Youth 470 Champion in 1977. Between 1978 an 1984, he was always on the best 10 teams in 470 in Germany. He has participated  in several German and European Championships, whilst also sailing regattas in other classes like: Laser, FD, Hobie Cat and bigboats.

Since 1976 Carlo has also been windsurfing and performed with experience on sinkers.
